Hi all, i made this threads for us to document our chosen 1000 point lists.

Ill make separate threads for each round where you a) make your pledge and b) post pics of your status at the end of the period.

OK, so here is my extensive 1000 point army list:

HQ: Azreal

Troops: 5 Death Wing Terminators - Cyclone Missile Launcher
Troops: 5 Death Wing Terminators - Cyclone Missile Launcher

Elite: 5 Death Wing Terminator Knights.

Total: 940

Expansion force to follow:

Dedicated Transport: Land Raider (standard) with multi melta
Troops: 5 Death Wing Terminators.

Total: 1475

Expansion Force Two to follow:
Unknown

Total 2000.

Troop - 10 x Kabalite Warriors, 1x blaster, 1x splinter cannon, including Sybarite with venom blade - 130

Troop - 10 x Wyches, 1x razorflails, 1x hydra gauntlets, haywire grenades , including Hekatrix with venom blade plus dedicated transport, below - 155

Transport - Raider, splinter racks, night shields - 80

Troop - 10 x Wracks, including an Acothyst with hexrifle - 125

Fast Attack - 3 x Reavers, 1x cluster caltrops, 1x heat lance, including an Arena Champion with venom blade - 113

I imagine it on't matter so much against Necrons as it did against nids. Plus don't most armies get full saved against poison? As your basically playing marines I don't think you have too much to worry about Smile

Don't know sod all about necrons yet other than building them! But yeah you're correct, generally full armour save against poison with a few exceptions - seems a slightly more luck based with the fighting or at least there are more solid dice percentages to go on so Lady Luck might away those either way but really looking toward to trying them out (and Stryph at least they'll be painted lol)

lol, you and your luck Smile

They are better against nearly everything as the strenght of the dark eldar weapons are what - 3? 4?. Your mainly going against toughness 4 so the best you could hope for is 4's to wound anyway. The advantage would be against the thunder wolf cavalry, Eldar Wraith Lords, Tyranids, and higher level Orks. Yeah you get saves, but then most of the armies in this tale of gamers will. The exception will be the guard and dark eldar as I believe they are both (mainly) 5+?

I still think with a nid brain though, I'll never lose that!

Haven't played a "proper" match against dark eldar, although it's probably the most one sided match-up nids can face, that has to be my favourite codex out there that I've seen. Haven't been through the Dark Angel one but Taff seems to think highly of it so it could be beat it when I've seen it.

Oh your tyranids would still likely spank the dark angels. The simple fact is that with the list you tend to run, the amount of shooting needed is larger than marines can generally do. When your around next I was thinking of maybe doing a list to try and counter you. I've come up with a potential one but it has to be a mixed dark angels list to really work. Stupid toughness 6 models with 6 wounds each as troops.....

The terminator lists probably wouldn't hurt nids that badly, we have a lot of AP2 to negate that, it's the bikes that look nastier. saw a bike list that won a tourney and that was packing an unholy amount of plasma guns

I completely agree. A mixed list is most competitive for the dark angels. Nut is somewhat more awkward given three paint schemes too! Been working on eldar lists too. One of these days I'll get you....

i think balanced lists are a very underated tool for a lot of armies - you always hear of this list and this spam and this build, but certainly my experience both with my orks and opponents is that a balanced list of different threats is a major headache - target priority is a nightmare, and the enemy guaranteed has stuff that can hurt you, and stuff that can REALLY hurt you!
